Connect With Pastor Rachel Young

Rachel came to Victory Church in 2011 through Mary’s Song our women’s restoration center. Being a product of a broken home laden with drug addiction and mental illness, she followed in the footsteps of her parents and endured a twenty-five-year battle with mental illness and addiction that led to a suicide attempt that nearly took her life. In December 2011, she was arrested and led to Mary’s Song through prison ministry. There she encountered the love of Christ; the chains of mental illness and addiction were broken off of her life and she was filled with the joy of the Lord. She later completed the program, was asked to join the staff and now she is the director. In 2018, she received her Associates Degree in Biblical Studies and became a licensed minister. She has also had the pleasure of becoming a chaplain at Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, a certified belief therapist through Therapon, and she is currently enrolled at Oral Roberts University pursuing a degree in psychology. On the eight-year anniversary of her life-transforming encounter with the love of Jesus, she was married to a long-time deacon of the church. In Christ, Rachel has been healed, restored and given a brand-new life! Today it is her great joy to be able to share the love of Jesus with other women just like herself and encourage them to partake of the newness of life offered to them in Christ.
